There is nothing purer than the gifts given us by our own nature. Free from all the chemicals that are affecting our environment as well as our skin. Living in the 21st century surrounded by all the dust and pollution. It has become our responsibility to eat healthily and also protect our skin from all the harmful effects of pollution.

Many of us have faced difficulty in taking care of our skin during the recent pandemic we faced. Therefore, here I bring you a very easy solution to take care of your skin naturally. Here is a step-by-step method of doing an organic facial with ingredients that are available in your kitchen and in your home itself. Taking care of your skin had never been so easy and using organic ingredients prevents you from all the harmful chemicals.

You just need to follow the steps below. But before that tie your hair back and make sure your hair doesn’t fall on your face.

1. Cleansing: Wash your face with your favorite face wash and make sure you do not have any makeup on your face and then dab it with a dry towel. Then make a cleanser that suits your skin type.

For oily skin: Add 1 tablespoon to 2 tablespoons of milk. Or add 1 tablespoon of baking soda to 2 tablespoons of rose water. Take the ingredients in a container and mix well.

For dry skin: You can use 2 tablespoons of olive oil or coconut oil or you can even use baby oil.

Dab a piece of cotton into the oil or the mixture. Apply it to your face with a little pressure and clean it with an upward motion. Change the cotton piece if you feel that it’s getting dirty. Make sure your face is clean thoroughly. After cleaning it with a cleanser wash your face with water and pat dry with a clean towel.

2. Exfoliation.

The next step is to exfoliate your skin, with a natural homemade scrub. Exfoliation helps remove dead skin cells from your face and is an essential step in any facial routine.

For making homemade scrub suiting the skin type you need:

For oily skin: 1 tablespoon of granulated sugar and 1 tablespoon of honey. Mix them together and then gently massage the paste on your face.
For dry skin: 1 tablespoon of brown sugar and 1 tablespoon of olive oil or coconut oil. Mix them together and do a gentle massage on your face.

Then rinse your face with lukewarm water, and you may use a clean cotton cloth dipped in warm water to help you clean your area around the eyes and nose. And pat dry.

3. Face Massage.

After a good scrub, give a gentle massage to your face. With the help of your forefingers rub your face in the directions shown in the picture above.

Giving a massage will help you in increasing blood circulation which will lead to glowing skin.

A tip for better massage is to rub some aloe vera gel (for oily skin) on your fingers and then massage your face and you can add some vitamin E oil to the gel (for dry skin).

Pro tip: Use this motion every day whenever you apply any cream or moisturizer to your face as well. This will help you with better circulation and flow of blood which will lead to glowing and wrinkle-free skin.

4. Steam Treatment.

Steaming helps open our pores so that our face is prepared for an organic facial mask, which will help draw the impurities out.

For steaming your face boil some water in a container, cover your head with a towel as shown in the picture, and make sure your face is right 15 cm above the container and your face is getting proper steam. And drape the towel over your head in such a way that the steam is trapped around your face.

Pro tip: For better results, you can add a few drops of rosewater/any of your favorite essential oils to the water when you take the steam. Pat dry after taking at least 5 min of steam. And if you feel that the water is getting cold simmer it again over the stove and then take the steam.

5. Apply Mask.

The next important step is to nourish your face with an organic face make that you can easily make at home.

For oily skin: Add 2 tablespoons of yogurt and 2 tablespoons of lemon. And blend them both nicely. Apply this mixture to your face and neck, and leave it for 10 to 15 minutes.

For dry skin: Mix 1 teaspoon of milk, 1 tablespoon of honey, 1 teaspoon of aloe vera gel, and 1 teaspoon of coconut oil in a container and blend them well. Then apply this mixture to your face and neck and leave it for 10 to 15 minutes.

After applying the masks rinse them with warm water, and pat dry. In my upcoming blogs, I will tell you about at least 10 different organic masks for both dry and oily skin respectively.

6. Toning and moisturizing your skin.

This is the last and final step for a perfect facial spa routine. Toning and moisturizing your skin will help you give a natural glow to your face. Also, you can easily make a toner at home for yourself. You can try these very simple recipes for an organic homemade toner.

  1. 1 tablespoon of apple cider mixed with one tablespoon of water.
  2. 1 tablespoon of aloe vera gel mixed with one tablespoon of water.
  3. 1 tablespoon of rosewater mixed with 1 tablespoon of water.

Finish your facial routine by moisturizing your skin, You can use any of your favorite moisturizers or also can use vitamin E oil, or aloe vera gel, or baby oil to moisturize your skin.

Follow this routine once a week for better results. I will try to cover facial routines for pigmentation, wrinkles & fine lines, pimples & acne, for glowy skin in my upcoming blog posts.
